- Crispin Seabrook played John Spence. Losing 0-3, 8/15, 9/15, 13/15. Each game we witnessed Crispin playing better and better, with the final game a very close loss. Playing at 1 for the C team is not Crispin’s usual team position – so full plaudits for stepping up.
- James played Lucas Hopkins. Scores on the doors: Loss 0-3, 8/15, 12/15, 10/15. No whitewash and James should feel proud he stepped up to number 2 position to help out numbers wise. A great effort nonetheless.
- Gareth Jones played Tom Yuen. Losing 0-3, 12/15, 5/15, 9/15. Again, stepping up from his normal 5 position, a gallant effort nonetheless (even If I say so myself!).
- Nathan Boardman (no relation to the great cyclist, but a relation the usual C1 team position player and stalwart Paul Miles). Nathan played Simon McCarthy and secured his very first win for the C team. When I asked what his approach was to this game, he replied he kept calm throughout, even when losing points. Perhaps this is something we can all learn from (including myself). Scores: 3-0 win, 15/12, 15/6, 15/12. Tidy.
- Eliza Hales (Junior) played Paul Ogden. Eliza secured a great win, with a 3-0 and 15/12, 15/10, 15/9 score line. Well done Eliza, a tremendous effort throughout, and against an opponent who fought hard. Brill work.
